The Project

About Us

This project grows out of a passion for the tradition — a deep conviction that classical Taoist astrology is a rigorous, coherent system that the Western world has simply never had proper access to. What reaches most English-speaking readers is a pale shadow: zodiac animal horoscopes, simplified readings, imaginary star systems untethered from celestial observation. The classical tradition, with its roots in Taoist cosmology and its careful attention to the actual sky, remains largely invisible.

We come to this work with a personal stake in it. Coming from a family with decades of living astrological practice, we have first-hand experience of what contemporary Taoist astrology can offer — and a clear-eyed sense of where it falls short. That proximity to practice, combined with fluency in Classical Chinese, gave us access to the primary sources directly: the scattered classical texts, the technical vocabulary, the cosmological frameworks that popular tradition had long since set aside. What we found there was both richer and more coherent than anything available in translation. This project began as an effort to make it accessible.
